MicroCloud architecture

Designed specifically for density, lower power per node, reduced costs, and increased operational efficiency. Sharing common fans, switching, power supplies, and the metal chassis, microservers streamline rack infrastructure and improve density over standard rack options. Large numbers of small compute nodes can address some of the emerging lightweight scale-out workload needs and achieve new levels of power efficiency and density.

Specific classes of workloads

Microservers have emerged as an option the tend to scale well with large numbers of relatively lightweight nodes such as low-end dedicated hosting and simple content delivery. Irons offers broad range of offerings engineered to give flexibility of choice, improve node density, and reduce node power consumption. The design concepts behind microservers gives cloud service providers and hosters the background to make informed decisions to address their server infrastructure needs.

Scale with node performance

The Intel Xeon processor E3-1200 v3 product family features highest single threaded performance and performance per node of these three options, plus the most robust PCIe connectivity and advanced graphics support. in the enterprise, In recent system designs such as half-width rack-mount servers have primarily targeted cloud service provider data center implementations. Microservers are now taking their place among other server form factors as a new density optimized system

With Node options of 24/12/8 modular server conveniently integrated in 3U form factor

The MicroCloud modular server system provides the high density, performance, efficiency and cost effectiveness required for today’s demanding server deployments. The compact 3U chassis that is less than 30 inches deep, saving over 76% of rack space when compared to traditional 1U servers.

The cable-less, hot-pluggable server nodes operate independently. Each node provides up to 128GB DDR3-1600/1333MHz of ECC Unbuffered DIMM/ECC LR/RDIMM memory, one PCI-E 3.0 x8 expansion slot for low-profile add-on card, and 2x 3.5”, or 4x 2.5” HDDs with optional kit. The MicroCloud system utilizes redundant Platinum Level (94%) high-efficiency power supplies and sophisticated cooling zone controls for a Green energy profile.

Each node is powered by an Intel® Xeon® processor from either the newest E3-1200 v2 (up to 95W) & E3-1200 v3 families (up to 84W) or E5-2600 v2 family (up to 130W).
