Host and OS Independent RAID Subsystem: |
 |
DAS-RAID Subsystem SATA (or/and SAS DISKS) provides affordable high performance storage for a multitude of primary applications including database, OLTP and web services as well as high capacity secondary applications including backup, snapshot, archive, disaster recovery, virtual tape library, data acquisition, imaging, video and audio.
Offers Universal Storage option as Primary or Secondary Storage
DAS-RAID Subsystem SATA (OR/AND SAS DISKS) is an enterprise class product that can handle many primary applications where the extra random access speed of expensive fibre channel products is not needed. It is also absolutely ideal for all secondary storage applications. For performance applications, each SATA (OR/AND SAS DISKS) unit house its own RAID controllers. For capacity applications, one base unit can have up to three expansion shelves added to amortize the RAID controllers over more drives - reducing the cost per gigabyte.
The Highest Storage Density Drive Configurations
All data storage solutions from Winchester Systems include the latest in drive technology with the highest density and fastest access capability available. All drives are removable and hot-swappable and it takes only a few minutes to replace a problem drive. |

DAS RAID-Subsystem stores 16 TB in a single unit, or up to 48 TB with three expansion JBOD-Subsystem |
High Capacity, High Performance, and High Reliability
DAS-RAID Subsystem SATA (OR/AND SAS DISKS) is well suited for backup and archiving applications offering the high sequential data throughput rates needed to move large blocks of data rapidly for data backups, and more importantly, data restorations. Fault tolerant reliability is standard with dual redundant, hot-swappable components.
Offers Shared Storage Capability for Multi-Port/Server Host Connectivity
DAS-RAID Subsystem SATA (OR/AND SAS DISKS) also works with IPDATA Appliances , our networked attached storage appliance, to provide shared access to archived data. IPDATA Appliances supports heterogeneous file sharing over a Local Area Network and makes accessing large files from multiple hosts quick and easy. |

Hotswap Power Supplies and Cooling Fans.
Available with Multi Port Fibre 4Gb or SAS Host Interface. |
Offers advanced RAID Configuration and RAID Storage Management
DAS-RAID Subsystem SATA (OR/AND SAS DISKS) provides full-featured protection in RAID 0, 1 (1+0), 3, 5, and 6.
DAS-RAID Subsystem SATA (OR/AND SAS DISKS) also provides high data availability with remote and real-time monitoring, automatic drive failure detection, failed drive rebuild, hot-swap drive capability and online expansion. It also offers:
- The firmware-embedded Web Browser-based RAID manager allows local or remote management and configuration.
- The firmware-embedded SMTP manager monitors all system events and user notifications automatically
- The firmware-embedded SNMP agent allows remote to monitor events via LAN with no SNMP agent required
Offers advanced RAID 6 Dual Parity Protection for ultimate Reliability
RAID 6 provides dual parity to protect against two drive failures and to help ensure that critical disk rebuilds after a drive failure are successful - especially important with today’s large arrays. RAID 6 dual parity offers 500 to 30,000 times longer MTDL (Mean Time To Data Loss) than RAID 5. |

| Scalability: |
Usage of Fibre interface allows utilizing SAN Capabilities for host connectivity and enterprise grade scalability; recommended for scalability ( large deployments). |
Usage of SAS interface is only recommended when higher transfer rate than Fibre is desired such as high performance database. SAS is expandable but not scalable. |
SAS or/and SATA Drives Support. |
Usage of SCSI interface is not recommended as SAS is a better option with higher transfer rate. |
